Any one visiting Croatia this summer?? Where?? When??

I'm hoping to go in the fall. Can't make it this summer, I'm afraid. Probably the coast, maybe Pula, Cres, Rab, Hvar, Zadar, Plivica... If I don't make it in the fall, I'll have to wait until spring. Any recommendations off the beaten path?

I'm going to Zadar and Pula for sure. I'm still planning other small trips. I'm thinkning Medugorije, Dubrovnik, Split and Ancona... Or some variation. I'm starting to research it now.
2 years ago we went to Beradin in Istria and visited some cool caverns! Last year we hit Plitvice, Venice and Motovun. We also drove through Vukovar but didn't have time to explore it. Maybe it gets added to the list this year. -

I'd be interested to know how Vukovar is. I saw some video footage several years ago from a low-budget movie made about the seige. It was really sad. Looked like the city had been flattened.
Why Ancona? Not a really great Italian town.
I don't know a whole lot about the Croatian interior cities outside of Zagreb, but I've heard that Varazdin is nice. Seen some good photos, too.

Izola is a nice place too. If you like to party, you must go there, Ambasada Gavioli rocks!
